This work log describes how I installed an auxiliary fan connector, replaced the crappy orange LED with a blue one, and fixed the stupid short power cord. Now I don't regret buying the cheapo enclosure anymore.

So that 256mb USB Watch was a piece of shit and broke multiple times, so I ripped it apart and salvaged the memory chip. I soldered on a new cord and to prevent static discharge coated it with epoxy, which is both non-conductive and transparent. A very cool effect with $0 spent.
After my success with that, I scrounged up this old 128mb drive with amnesia and did the same thing, but I think it looks way better because I didn't have to solder on any cords, plus it has a flat led which illuminates the epoxy nicely. I did manage to break off a surface-mount capacitor in the process, but apparently it didn't do anything because it still works fine.

I made another
work log. Basically, circumstances forced me to do this mod.

By far the sweetest mod I've ever done. The warranty finally expired, so I took the whole thing apart, Dremel'ed in the biohazard and japanese letters, and gave it a new paint job. I had to fill in this stupid 'Dell' ridge with epoxy, and I put clear blue plastic behind where I cut out so the LCD backlight illuminates it. And yes, it lights up. Special thanks to hackerstickers.com for the japanese hacker pattern.

I put a really long antenna on this TuneCast II so i can commandeer any radio station I want from really far away. I haven't range tested it yet, but it works all the way across my basement. I got the idea from Hack-a-Day.

Sitting there on a 4-hour van ride in the dark with a dead cellphone, dead mp3 player, and dead laptop, as everyone around me enjoyed their electronic devices, I had a really good idea for a calculator progam. Alas, my calculator was all but useless in this dark environment. Then, instead of the program, I was planning out this sweet mod. 2 blue LEDs from RadioShaft, a micro switch, and two 100-ohm resistors later my calculator is an all-terrain vehicle (all lighting device, whatever).

I've been meaning to post this picture for a while, so here it is, thanks to my 5 megapixel christmas present. The stripe goes all the way around the phone, inverted between blue and silver.

I did this mod a few months ago, and just got around to taking the picture. I did it because the painted XBox sitting next to the unpainted PS2 just didnt quite look right, so I fixed it.

Yes, that's right, I painted my XBox. Will it ever end? No.
I also installed a Xenium ICE modchip and a bigass hard drive, along with about 20 games (a few of which I actually bought)

This was one of my favorite and most used mods, until the calculator went berserk and I had to get a new one. It was a TI-83+ Silver Edition calculator, that was just too... silver. I took it apart, and painted the inside of the clear plastic case.
I only wish I could have gotten rid of those damn sparkles.

I was sick of this old POS cellphone being so lame, so i fixed 'er up.
POS cellphone + masking tape + blue spraypaint = Kickass cellphone

Now this is something I did that had absolutely no point whatsoever. I saw a Dreamcast controller lying on the table, right next to a can of blue spraypaint.
I think it looks a lot cooler now, even though there was absolutely no purpose to this project. I've since used it to slightly increase the selling price of my Dreamcast system.

If you are looking for a badass $4 mod that takes 15 minutes, I've found just the thing. It came to me when I realized that red was so 2001, and looked like crap next to my computer. So I fixed it, and it is blue. And I spent only $4 on a 2000mcd blue LED from RadioShaft. Definitely one of the easiest mods I've done.

This is my first paid commission, by my friend Jeff, to paint this sweet WiFi fish on his new clie, which conveniently came with no warranty.
I took the design from
HackerStickers.com, and I don't have to feel guilty because I have bought one from them before, and now I am linking to their site.

This is one of my earliest mods. I was stuck using a crappy 300mHz brick that my dad referred to as a laptop. Since I couldn't make it go any faster and I didn't want to be embarassed in public by it, I decided to at least jazz it up a bit. I started off with the Lizardbook, Dremeling a gecko pattern on the cover and the palm rest, and then decided to go all out with this extra one we had laying around. I gave it the silver gradient with spraypaint and then Dremeled the Biohazard on the front and back. I was able to continue the drawings over the touchpads by writing with a silver sharpie and then putting a couple layers of Scotch Satin Tape over it. Still works perfectly.

I decided to make a tribute to my favorite caffeinated peppermints, Penguin Mints. So I made this optical mouse. To make it as simple as possible, I hacked out the mounting brackets (actually the entire bottom) from the original mouse and epoxied it on. It works perfectly, except I couldn't integrate the scroll wheel, so it's just 2 buttons.

I was bored, there was a router sitting on my desk, and I thought to myself "What would be the craziest thing I could do with that router?"

So my sister comes home with a guitar that she got for free and "fixed up" which consisted of duct taping on part of a beer case to hold the dials. I decided to help her out by cutting a piece of plexiglass to replace the cardboard. The spraypaint removal designs were her work, so don't go saying I did a shitty job. I swear to god, it looked worse before.
